Polish Garden Tour: Fruits & Veggies
Join Ania as she takes us on a tour of her typical Polish allotment garden. She shows us various fruits and vegetables commonly grown in Poland, including American blueberries, sweet cherries, sour cherries, apples, different types of currants (red, yellow, and black), wild strawberries, and regular strawberries. In the vegetable section, she demonstrates traditional Polish crops like kohlrabi, cucumbers, dill, tomatoes (including both red and black varieties), and explains the popular Polish tradition of making lightly salted pickles. The garden also features a recreational area with grass for sunbathing and a fire pit, typical of Polish allotment gardens. Throughout the tour, Ania provides interesting cultural context about gardening traditions in Poland, particularly among older generations.
